First let's get a few things out of the way. Yes, I am/was that bloke in Everything But The Girl. Yes, I recorded 'North Marine Drive' in my youth. Yes, I have been a DJ for over 10 years. Yes, I wrote a book in 1996 about surviving an extremely rare life-threatening illness called 'Patient'. Giles Smith has been buying vinyl for over 10 years and DJ'ing for about 5 of these. Early influences were traditional DJ's such as Knuckles, Morales, Humphries and MAW. However it wasn't until at University that the dj bug took hold. Inspired by trips to Dave Beers "Back to Basics" to see the likes of Doc Marten, Francoise K and home grown talent such as Ashley Beedle, Farley and Heller and Basics very own Ralph Lawson.
