Select resident DJs of Proton Radio are now glorified label managers on Proton Music. Available digitally on Beatport and beyond, these imprints are dedicated to releasing the artists and unsigned tunes featured on the station. Each music label is developed and creatively controlled by a host of one of our radio shows.
Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.
The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's music taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. For the official Proton Music website with detail information on all our releases and extended previews of all our tracks, click here.
Out of Argentina comes Sick Watona from Ricky Ryan (aka Can Costa), host of Feedback Radio on Proton. The label is an outlet for the biggest tracks in his crate. Originally co-founded with Israeli DJ/producer Shlomi Aber, Sick Watona now comes to Proton Music with renewed force.
Featuring artists such as Chris Micali, 16 Bit Lolitas, Sultan, and many more. Expect only masterpieces of the epic variety.
After releasing 3 successful EPs and their debut artist album on Proton Music, Ogi Gee Cash & Synchronized decided to launch their own label based on their popular radio show, the Balkan Connection. Their aim is to unite talents of the progressive house sound from the Balkan region and the world over-- from established names to upcoming talents on the way to conquer the world stage of electronic music.
High production quality and innovative sound ideas under the supervision of the Balkan Connection trio and their state of the art J9000 SSL music studio will make this new progressive label one to watch in the months ahead.
One label wasn't enough for Ricky Ryan. Where Sick Watona features more established names, his second imprint Avangardia specializes in new and upcoming artists from around the globe.
Expect more obscure and off kilter progressive tech house beats with a bit of disco flavor as only Ricky Ryan could serve up.
The sounds of our Elëfant come from the machinations of one Enrique Vanegas, known on Proton Radio as Cor Blimey: DJ and host behind the indie Radioactivity show. His new label, like his monthly show, will focus on new, upcoming, and underexposed talent in and around the Techno genre.
80Hz-Digital is hand picked music from Pole Folder, Belgium based DJ/producer Benoit Franquet, and host of the monthly radio show 80Hz Sessions on Proton.
German techno duo Davis & May run *back home, a record label on Proton Music and a monthly show on Proton Radio. The brand specializes in melodic, emotional, forward thinking techno music hand picked by Davis & May.
