Stuart McKeown has gone a long way since the release of the Broken Caravan earlier this year-- literally. He's back in Australia now and we've got the second installment of his genre defying productions for your listening pleasure. His first release was widely accepted, getting support even from Hybrid for 'Clicks That Go Beep In The Night'.
At the top of the new EP is 'Raven Hill' (source of inspiration for the cover art, if you didn't catch on already), a spooky progressive techno minimal glitchy affair that explodes with energy after the breakdown and really must be heard at full volume. We'd call it a direct descendent of 'Clicks' but they probably were written around the same time... 'Raven Hill' was actually one of the first tracks we heard of Stu's! We're sorry it took so long to get out. Now go listen.
Those anxious for more Stuart can check out his MySpace for previews of upcoming tunes, or log on to his website for the latest news and podcasts!
On Demand subscribers can preview the Little Pikey EP on Particles this upcoming Sunday or tune into his classic downtempo mix for B-Sides!
STUART MCKEOWN
Hailing from Belfast, and at only 23; Stuart has been DJing for 8 years. Being heavily influenced in the early days by Northern Exposure & Leftfield, Stuart has continued to mould his style of music far from what any of his peers could ever have imagined.
Growing up in a city not at all fuelled by the Electronic Music scene, Stuart was more intrigued to explore to find a more diverse sound that not only combined ambience but also had a tough gritty edge to it aswell. This lead him down the paths of many genres; experimenting in everything from Progressive House right through to Minimal House and Ambient IDM. (Read More.)
