With the release of Stuart's new EP, 'My Little Pikey', Proton Music decided to do a little revist to the original EP that got Stuart out the door and into the sets of Hybrid.
Proton Music artists Darius Bassiray and Jesse Somfay enter the fray with new interpretations of 'Clicks' and 'Fields'. Minimal and techno reign supreme here, dig in!
Stuart McKeown was an Irish progressive house & breaks junkie--reveling in the floating melodies and pads that were so common at the turn of the century. Then one day he moved to Australia, and everything changed. Introduced to the seedy under belly of the scene down under, Stuart's production mutated into something freakish. Amidst the community that gave birth to the Zero Tolerance sound, Stuart teamed up with Melbourne's Darius Bassiray and went on to win Proton's latest remix contest in 2006.
From there Stuart went on to remix 'Lorenzo' by Bassiray himself, while his production 'Clicks That Go Beep In the Night' caught the ear of Proton label manager Jay Epoch and found its way into the latest edition of the acclaimed 'Particles' compilation series. That track gave birth to a host of others, which now find a home on Proton Music. Enjoy!
About the Artist
STUART MCKEOWN
Hailing from Belfast, and at only 23; Stuart has been DJing for 8 years. Being heavily influenced in the early days by Northern Exposure & Leftfield, Stuart has continued to mould his style of music far from what any of his peers could ever have imagined.
Growing up in a city not at all fuelled by the Electronic Music scene, Stuart was more intrigued to explore to find a more diverse sound that not only combined ambience but also had a tough gritty edge to it aswell. This lead him down the paths of many genres; experimenting in everything from Progressive House right through to Minimal House and Ambient IDM. (Read More.)
