"If any of you considered Joel Armstrong an "upcoming" artist in the past then it's about time you changed your point of view. Armstrong is certainly here, and there is certainly nothing "upcoming" about "Serenity"...

His demiurgic style is ingenious, and flows through the work... an extremely coherent masterpiece which I can guarantee you will be hearing for the remainder of the year.. "

The Original Mix

In February of 2005, Colin & Justin Moreh (aka Shiloh) first introduced the world to Joel Armstrong during their Electrofly broadcast on Proton Radio. Since then Joel has produced a collection of remixes that have slowly been making a name for himself in the scene, including remixes of Proton's 'Fingerpaint', 'Abbreviated Funk', and 'Lost in the Moment'-- the last of which won 1st place in our latest remix contest.

Now he officially joins the Proton Music roster with 'Serenity', his debut single and the first of our releases to receive a perfect score (10/10) at Progressive-Sounds, one of the the scene's most respected sources.

The Original Mix is a progressive-breaks number in the vein of our #1 best selling 'Fingerpaint' and features Joel's wonderfully composed melodies and vocals.

"If any of you have been wondering what Shiloh have been up to lately, they certainly haven't been misusing their time... the guys have been great enough to add their touch to "Serenity", and if this mix is any indication of what we can expect from their forthcoming album on Electrofly, I think I will be losing sleep!

Each element of the Original has been extracted and given an added sense of clarity. There are many complex elements to the structure; however each one individually stands out with razor sharp definition. The melodic elements have been brought towards the front, and a driving 4/4 foundation keeps things moving"

Shiloh Mix

As hosts of one of our most popular radio shows, Colin and Justin Moreh make their much anticipated debut on the Proton Music label with their remix of 'Serenity'. Its extremely fitting since they've been Joel's mentors in production over the years.

Since their music debuted on the BBC in 2003 by Proton's Steve Gerrard, Shiloh has been one of our favorite progressive house and breakbeat dj/producing duos. Four minutes into this remix and you'll see why.

They've taken the mellow vibes of the original and crafted an epic production that uses all the elements of Joel's mix, adding additional melodies and effects with a breakdown that has to be heard!

"If you are reading this and you aren't already familiar with Opencloud then something isn't quite right. Blake Potter and Corey Spengler have taken the scene by storm, inspiring awe in the hearts of everyone who is blessed with hearing their work. If just the thought of bringing together Joel Armstrong and Opencloud doesn't put a smile on your face, listening to the remix presented here certainly will.

Rebuilding the composition to a tight 4/4 standard, their own melodies are tightly sewn in and complement the original elements wondrously. The mood takes a stygian turn from the Original Mix and pushes forward with driving force. Skilfully paying homage to the Original Mix whilst lending their own touch, Opencloud hit the mark yet again."

Opencloud 'Infinity' Mix

From their contest winning remix of 'Abbreviated Funk' to their 4-track Life EP, any good fan of Proton knows the sound of Opencloud by now-- and with a forthcoming release on Infusion's new label alongside numerous remixes in the works for Proton, we can guarantee you'll be hearing a lot more from Blake and Corey in the months ahead.

The 'Infinity' remix of 'Serenity' is a a four to the floor, dance floor smashing affair that we've all come to expect from Opencloud. They deliver beyond all expectations, crafting one of their best received productions to date.
