The Original Mix

"The Original Mix builds itself up in a systematic fashion, pushing a strong forward thinking direction. Jannica lends her almost spoken word vocal over the top, and with this floating in and out and certain moments, the mood is heightened even further.

The primary melody has a futuristic feel to it, and when this is teamed with an already strong foundation, the results are at times haunting, but still powerful. A unique outing which is sure to be received well by many."

Ray & Peter return to Proton Music after their contest winning runner-up remix of 'Lost in the Moment' and the release of 'That Moment' on Lance Cashion's 'The Sound'.

As featured on John Digweed's KissFM radio show, Project 6 features the haunting vocals of Jannica and a remix by Greek production duo B.I.G., best known for their release of 'A Promise' on Klik earlier last year.

B.I.G.'s You Win Mix

"(B.I.G.)... turn up the groove for their mix... which twists up the bassline of the Original, lending it a housier feel whilst still retaining that progressive edge. Jannica's vocal weaves in and out, and the melody makes its appearance, although taking a back seat this time.

The underlying elements are the key to this mix, not the major melody lines, and this certainly gives the release a wide appeal and will capture the minds of many forward thinking DJs. B.I.G. manage to skillfully blend their breathtaking atmosphere with a unique mix of house and progressive."
- [PS]

When Ray & Peter told us their first choice to remix Project 6 was greek production duo B.I.G. they didn't actually think we'd be able to get in touch with this elusive pair, let alone sign them for a remix. But sometimes running a radio station has its benefits, and here we are.

B.I.G. first graced our airwaves earlier last year on October 21st when Christopher Lobsinger showcased their album, 'Mindscapes' on his show San Francisco Sessions. We, along with our listeners, were blown away. Not only was the album amazing-- but it had been out for a year and none of us had known about it.

Their remix of 'Project 6' is anything a fan of their album could hope for. Rich atmospherics, beautiful melodies, and a strong dose of pure emotion. Not to be missed.

Ray Romero

Ray Romero is a software engineer hailing from Austin, Texas. He currently works with an Austin based software company during the day but at night, it is all about the beats. His love for electronic music began back in the 80's when bands like Front 242 and Front Line Assembly were arriving in the musical consciousness. He first produced music in the early 90's with daisy chained midi keyboards and a 4 track.

Peter Martin

Peter Martin is the rare type of DJ/Producer musical magician that simply can not be classified by a simple electronic music genre description. This reflects in his manic ability to craft discrete sonic landscapes of all sorts. He can pull out complex melodic and harmonic tones with little to no effort. He never claims the credit, as he is just another channel for greater forces at work.

B.I.G.

Dimos and Mike Siavelis, 29 and 27 years old respectively, started off with the best possible foundations-- classical music. From there they managed to enchant us with their electronic compositions! Apart from their 11-year studies in music, both have excellent knowledge of the piano.

Their influences range from Yorgie Van Bellen, James Niche, Faithless and Bill Hamel, passing through Banco de Gaia, Deep Forest, Future Sound of London as well as Jean Michelle Jare, Vangelis Papathanasiou and Brian Eno. While they were also influenced by classic rock acts such as Deep Purple, Dire Straits and undoubtedly Pink Floyd. At the beginning of the 90's, however, their music horizon started clearing up and the two brothers were tempted by the uplifting sounds of progressive house.

Their love and passion for music is an integral characteristic of both of the boys. Thus, they showed no resistance in giving in to their greater love and invested in technological equipment, which was the best foundation in order for the two brothers to unfold their talents.

From the release of their debut album "Mindscapes", it was impressed on every possible occasion that the whole project was recorded literally in front of the Corinthian gulf, as it is a major source of inspiration.

Having the support of major DJs and producers such as Nick Warren, John Digweed, Armin Van Buuren, Mathew Deekay, Hernan Cataneo, J-Pal, Tone Depth and many more the two bros from Greece seem to be capable of keeping their promise for sharing good music with the world for a long time in the future.
Artists interested in submitting a demo reel to Proton Music should contact Sam or Jason.
